I remember a story that there was some psycho/devil worshipers that lived near the Bethany High School football stadium. One night my friend and I drove out there and he told me about this crazy guy that lived out there. We drove up to his driveway (long dirt road) and were about to pull in when the lights to a pick up truck lit up and scared the crap out of us. We quickly drove off, but were not chased, of course. Does anyone else know of an urban legend dealing with that area?

My friend must have been messing with me then. It was pretty creepy when the guy turned on his pickup right as we were turning down his road.

Lived in Bethany more than 20 years. Never heard of it, either. Now, the Nazarenes are there and I'll admit they are pretty scary.

Just kidding. I love the Nazarenes. Fine religion. I graduated from SNU.

I grew up in Bethany, and also heard this story, but by then it had evolved into a crazy old man who murdered his family and sits in a rocking chair on the porch waiting for his next victim (sounds like a movie, right?)

It was an old house set very far back from the road, just west of the Conoco station at 39th and Council. I remember some guys driving a carload of us out there. We were all so freaked out that we only made it to the front of the drive, then turned around. Just kids being kids.
