Soonergirl, wasnt Woodson park once Oklahoma City airfield. Before they moved it out to Will Rogers? I heard of Willey Post taking off from OKC airfield at 29th and May. The oldest guy I can find says was at Woodson.

You are so right!! It was the Oklahoma City Municipal Air Terminal before the Southwest Golf Course was built there.

The Green's had two sons and a daughter the boys names were Richard and Mike don't remember the girls name for sure but think it was Dianne she used to babysit me and one of my brothers. Neighbors that I can remember the Hunter's and the Bottom's. I quess that's where you got Butts. (Funny!!) I may remember some other family names after I think about it awhile.

I never knew Woodson Park was a golf course. Interestingly, Woodson Park
is larger than Willow Creek - formerly Hillcrest GC?

There's so much to learn about our old stompin' grounds.

...And before it was Willow Creek it became Walnut Creek in 1978.

Here is an interesting article from 1954 about all the people who bought houses along Country Club Drive and the area surrounding the golf course.

That's right!! The Hunter boys names were Terry and Trey. Trey was killed by OKC S.W.A.T. over a domestic thing. Both were like members of the family. When our family moved over on S. Klein close to Jefferson Jr. High the Hunter's moved in right next door. On 50th they lived about three houses down on same side of street, so we lived close to the Hunter's for many years.

And, yes I remember the house and the Wonder Bread... I was married and a loaf of Bread was .10 cents. We lived on Agnew and 47th st. in an upstairs apartment... Oh to be young again...

I'll bet your rent was a sky high $45 per month. That was a high rent
