I don't know if its just me but, I always thought the food (at least at Thomas Jefferson jr. high and U.S. Grant sr. high) was pretty good. The dinner rolls and the cinnimon rolls were excellent. Also in grade school they had gooseberry pie. Where can you find that now?

I went to Jefferson and remember the cimmanon rolls. Every morning we'd
go to the cafeteria and get a roll and chocolate milk for 12 cents. The
dinner rolls were the best. It was an OKC school thing. Every school had'em.

There's paint on the base. That's 3 swats.

I'll bet that was the only science bench that wasn't scorched.

How many times did you set those Bunson burners a blaze when the
teacher was called out of the room?

How many times did it take before you caught on that the rubber hoses
would melt?

Glad those were taken before it started falling apart. It was just horrifying when I went to the big last gathering. I expected about 30 but I heard about 3000 of us show up. It was shoulder to shoulder throughout the school and I had to park 3 blocks away. I'm glad I went or I would have been angry they were tearing it down. I was necessary, though.

I may have missed it somewhere in an earlier post, but did they save cannon, and is it still at the school.

Does anyone know if/when you can tour the New School, I did not attend US Grant, but I like to see how our money's being spent.

I can't make it to Coit's this Saturday, but I'll definately be at the next meeting of the "Great Minds", maybe if we gather often enough, we can solve the Worlds problems.

I have some old pictures that I "inherited" when my grand father passed, (probably 1000-12000), some have the address written on the back, I think most are from the Downtown and S. side of OKC, most are from the late 30's through the late 60's.

One that really caught my attention is one of a golf course, all that's written on the back is S. Western--anyone know where this may have been!!

the cannon is right in front of the new school...you can go through the school almost any time if you just go and ask......The cannon was actually Donated to U.S> Grant by the class of 1965. The cannon was located by Danny Parker and delivered in 1966. Danny was killed in Viet Nam in June of 1969. He live across the street from me. Miss him a lot even after 40 years.....
