We are considering having a Singles Night at Vintage Coffee (150th & Western) once a week.

Would you come?
What night would work best?
What kind of things would you like to do at a "Singles Night" ?

I would consider coming.
Sundays and mondays are best for me.
Not sure what all is involved in an organized singles night so I don't have any suggestions here.

I would come, if/when I'm in town, which for the foreseeable future is likely to be only once or twice a year. (Coming home end of June. Woohoo!)
Uhm, don't pick your night based on my schedule. :)
No expectations here, except good coffee and conversation.

Sounds like a fun idea but 150th and Western?? Not sure I have the extra $300 in gas for the drive from Moore.

It's set.

Every Saturday night from 7pm to close.

no real events, just a chance for singles to get together and hang out in a non-bar atmosphere.

So stop whining about it and get out and do something. :beaten_fi

We are just north of Memorial and a few hundred feet east of Western.

Look forward to meeting you tonight.

lol, we definitely need more single people to show up to call it a success.

a number of my single friends always complain that "there is nowhere to meet people"; but when they have a chance to go and meet people they sit at home and watch TV.

Gee, I wonder why they are still single.

I usually have to work during these hours, but I will try to make it out one of these Saturdays. Maybe before I go to work since it's right down the street from my house.

Your mom's a hirl.

I am the one who wasn't an honor student? Actually, I was. Maybe that's why I can't tell when you are just using incorrect grammar, making spelling mistakes, or using that horrible slang that no one uses anymore. Cuz.

And thanks OGTS. That is my new name for hippy girls from now on. Now go bake me some brownies you hirl. hehe.

h = "happy" to see you.

hirl = nothing says love like a restraining order

wouldn't this discussion be much more interesting IRL with a nice iced latte in hand?

hopefully there are a lot of single hirls there.

Coffee? Saturday night? Better add a few packets of ROWDY to mine to get me there. Ha!

I don't think we have any Rowdy.

We do have toasted marshmallow...

Really? That gives me an idea. A Smooffee with chocolate and toasted marshmallow, and graham cracker bits mixed in. A "S'more-fee."

I'll try that next time I'm in.

oh Lordy, I'm so there now... single or not.. that sounds wonderful... what happens if we sneak Kahlua in? I kid, I kid.. but I love a Kahlua and Coffee with Whipped Cream and chocolate sprinkles.

I'm really starting to like Iced Coffees with all this hot weather though. I need to come in.. I'm really close.. I drive by everyday.

ROFL...this thread is cracking me up. Loving the "hirls"...I used to be one of those. Never really liked patchouli though so I was kicked out of the merry band of hirls.

I may need to attend one of these apparently very small gatherings. The promise of chocolate sprinkles did it for me.

you keep saying you are going to try it, why not today?

I'm here until noon, and while I don't have chocolate jimmies, I can sprinkle some oreo on top of the whipped cream....

We've only been doing it a couple of weeks. We haven't had a big enough turn out (YET) to do any demographics.

But the more single people who know about it, the better.

The movie was great. Very funny, not the "Short Circuit" ripoff that the trailers seemed to hint at, nothing too scary. A couple of tender moments, but no "tear-jerkers."

Also, I'm in the shop right now trying my above-mentioned "S'more-fee" idea. It's GOOOD.

yeah, I guess I'm not. But I refuse to mislead anyone.

We are committed to holding this event on Saturday nights, and we are hoping for some decent word of mouth to get us kicked off.

I hear my single friends complain about wanting a place that isn't smoky or sleazy, so that is what we are providing.

Karried

okay, regarding the 'sell' ... I think it's scary and awkward sometimes to attend a gathering with these preconceived notions ... I'm thinking maybe change the night from Singles Night to a more user friendly gathering ... no labels... you have to admit, it is daunting to place all these expectations on a particular group ( singles, looking for love etc) ..

How about a fun 'Come as you are 'Game or RockBand' night' maybe?

Good stuff, thank you!

Actually Tuesday Night is Game night with Rock Band coming back after the Olympics.
Thursday Night is Movie Night with great campy comedies.
Friday Night is Open Mike Night.
And Saturday is...um.....Happy Lucky Casual Fun....um...Night?

Hmm, well, I don't drink coffee, but I might stop in some Saturday night anyhow. :) The bar scene definately lost it's appeal years ago, and since I've only been here a week, it would be a good way to meet people.
