View Full Version : Dustbowl Becomes A Visionary OKC Leader

Here is my plan: I'm going to pull a Chesapeake on the owners of the Milk Bottle Building and offer them 10X the market value of the building. My vision is to turn this "Flatiron" stucture into a multi-use condo, wine bar, grocery store and health club. I think I will call it "The Mini-Flatiron Asia". All I need is a bond or sales tax extension of the current Ford Center Rehab project to get the funding. We only need to extend the sales tax for another two weeks or less to provide the funding. THIS IS NOT A TAX INCREASE. I will also need some TIF money to improve the streets and help my building of a giant underground parking facility. I plan to keep the Milk Bottle on top and cover it with neon lights that will change with whatever holiday is going on. If this is approved, I will erect a huge lighted pirate flag on top of the building to remind the OKC citizens that they have been robbed.

Can you imagine how much this would do for OKC? It will help us become a big league city and will provide 2-3 thousand high paying jobs according to my economists' statistics.

Now I love OKC and I fully expect to lose money on this project. I don't care because I'm willing to lose a ton of money because I love OKC and I don't want to see us lose the momentum and vitality that we are creating.

Please help me help OKC by signing our petition to save The Mini-Flatiron". There will be a sales pitch rah rah invitation only party to kick this off at Night Trips on Friday afternoon at 3:00pm. I think that's shift change and the entertainment will be fresh. We will provide Mini-Flatiron bucks for all those who share my vision. They are redeemable for one free table dance and a Natty Light.

If you don't vote for this you will hate OKC and you will be responsible for OKC becoming a backwoods, redneck, mentally-ill ridden, high teen pregnancy rate, obese, divorce filled, church going, low SAT score City.

That would probably be the most impressive thing you have ever erected in your entire life.

Here's an idea....you don't have to live here! Get out.

I'm going to request that the Milk Bottle building be named to the national register of historic places so you can't put your pirate flag or your neon lights on the top of the building.

You don't have vision betts. Mayor Mick would say "you just don't get it". ;)

Why would I leave? I love OKC. Now don't try to hurt my vision for our city.

Actually, I have erected some impressive things in Tulsa, but you wouldn't believe it.

Hey dustbowl.....

when your milk bottle project will get Oklahoma City on Sportscenter every night and make our city internationally visible with an association as wide-spread and well-known as the NBA, then you can ask for your money.....

Oh, and show me how many millions of dollars in ancillary growth your project will generate similar to the some $30-40 million per year a temporary Hornets team brought to the community.....

you might need some "analogy training" because your attempt was lame.....

Hey, Dustbowl. That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Too bad nobody else seems to have a sense of humor on here. You must have hit a raw nerve.

A better analogy would be MAPS.

Has the city paying for improvements to the canal, civic center, library, etc. helped to improve the city?

You bet.

If he's not trying to be flippant here, I fear for Mr. Dustbowl's clients in the court room if this is the sort of analogical reasoning he employs.

It's called sarcastic humor guys. Sheeeez!!!

Although building a giant biosphere over the city would put us on the map faster than a basketball team. C'mon have vision.

That may not be such a bad idea, but there are certain conditions....

1. OKC will have full ownership of the property

2. You will have to sign a long term lease for you use of the building and rent

3. We will allow you the naming rights for the building, but OKC retains the right to approve the name.

4. OKC retains the right to use the building if it dose not conflict with other scheduled events.

5. OKC will also receive a share of any profits gained for use of the property by third parties.

That sounds like a good start.

Come on people, lighten up. I thought it was pretty funny. I think there are a lot of lingering anger at people like Dustbowl who opposed the March 4th vote.

As far as the milk bottle getting international attention, yes, I would imagine fitting condos into the milk bottle would pretty much guarantee international fame. :)

It needs a casino and an upscale asian restaurant. I suggest Nobu or Japonaise, or maybe the Colonial in Chicago to keep the Vietnamese feel. Anything but Pho. We got that covered.

This will not happen and in fact if the city ever attempts to put a church in the building, the property can never be sold. I think we have enough steeples in this town.

The casino might be allowed if the city agrees to women only topless employees. This would make us a big-league city if I have anything to do with it.;)
