I'm sorry I was distracted, Doug.

Great pics, as always.

I think I would have to say that when the Gazett came out in favor of this tax proposal, I realized it had far more universal appeal than I'd expected.

I don't think the "no" votes had a thing to do with the $200 campaign, but rather, most those people would most likely have voted no if not a penny had been spent. And Wanda Jo. She is a force to be reckoned with. Now, I wish she'd turn her attention to letting the elderly know about the sales tax rebate they can apply for. That would make her a force for good.

But, in context with her agenda, counterproductive. Maybe now, she will.

Great pics Doug... that would have been really exciting and so much fun to watch the votes come in!

I fell asleep thinking about it and I woke up this morning - still doing the 'happy dance!'

Is it just me or does Berry Trambel ALWAYS look like he's drunk or high on something?

I'm hoping he has myasthenia gravis or some medical explanation......

Does that mean "hit by the beer stick"? Because that's the face I make when I've been imbibing a little heavily. :D

Great pics Doug. I wish I could have been there.

I agree, in the first pic of Barry Tramel above he looks piss drunk. Maybe that is why most of his articles suck?

I would have come, but newsok said it was not open to the public.

Note to self, don't take anything newsok says to literally. Your tax dollars paid for the arena, so you're more than welcome to attend these watch parties. It was packed out, but could have squeezed a hundred more or so in there.

It is indeed an awful pic of Tramel.

Well, when the articles says, "we're blogging from the watch party in Bricktown, but it's not open to the public", I don't know how else to take that.

You guys are making me feel bad about Berry Tramel's pic ... chalk it up to bad photography on my part ... he was involved in a telephone conversation, doubtless getting vote tally info. I assure you that he was stone cold sober.

I don't think it is just your pic, Every time I see Tramel he looks like that. I would say that he is not the photogenic type of person.

1.) I think I remember Barry saying on the radio he has never had a sip of alchol in his life.

2.) Tax dollars didn't pay for the watch party. Techincally it was closed to the public but you probably could have gotten in.

The "closed to the public" report was based on an email sent out by the chamber which hosted the watch party. What's intriguing is how the city and chamber have embraced "new media" like Doug (and Doug and his blog is certainly a great example of new media). Doug, good photos. You capture a side of events that is interesting and yet rarely reported by us in the "old MSM."

:tiphat: One of the parts I like best is taking pics of the real journalists, like yourself ... bee watcher-watcher? :bright_id Taking a pic of Nadia wasn't painful at all, either! :dizzy:

Notice that I've replaced the Berry Tramel pic with a crop from another. It was not my intention to be unflattering to anyone, particularly when my picture taking abilities were the source of the problem!
