Not a good time for me since I've got to pick up my wife at the airport at 9:50 p.m (returning from New Orleans, no less) ... but that still gives me a good hour or so and I' ll definitely be there to root on the home team (regardless of definition). Thanks, Betts, for this info.

I'm bumping this. Come out to this party, and bring your friends or family. I heard there might be television coverage, so a large turnout would look good. And, we can watch Chris Paul and David West in their first game as All Stars.

I planning to be there with my family tonight. Do you think we should get there early?

I suspect if you want a chance to talk to the Mayor, schmooze, etc, that it might be best to be there early.

I'm thinking about getting there between 6 and 6:30. This is assuming I don't have to go to the airport to pick up my husband, who's midnight flight was cancelled, and who knows what other flight he'll wangle himself onto.

I had a great time there tonight.

Doug, CCOKC, Betts, it was great to meet you.

Quick note: In a comment left by one "Steve H" in my blog post, he said,

Publicly funded stadiums are about one thing when it comes down to it: The total failure of the human spirit. Seeing you despicable people in person tonight more than affirmed that for me.

Now that I know that I am one of the "despicable" people (as are those of you who appear in the above pics), I feel sooo very bad ... maybe I should change my mind about the March 4 vote so that I will no longer be "despicable" ... or ... NOT!

so did anyone ask the mayor why there hasn't been more of a push for this vote coming up in 2 weeks? or does he feel he has all the "yes" votes in the bag? i'm just concerned because there's been hardly any advertising at all so far...

I really don't know. He was interviewed by a couple of TV stations but I wasn't listening.

Now who's the despicable one here? WOW. What an asshat.

He is a complete nut. I saw families there having fun, people interacting with each other, lots of smiles and friendliness. We had a great time. If that was a despicable group, I feel sorry for him.

Setting up and paying the bandwidth bills on that site probably cost him 100x what the tax will. Retard. Go protest lobbyists or the war.

I think Steve Hunt's first name is really Mike.

Holy crap, that's one cynical dude.

Now if he had said the NBA all-star game is a total failure of the human spirit, that I could see.

Gotta love the 3-point contest, though.

Is this the same guy that spoke at the City Council meeting and put it on YouTube? Is it the same disrupter who posted here as SHUNT? I googled "Mike Hunt" and didn't find much related. Why don't you think his name is Steve?

If that was really him that left that message at Doug's blog, he's unbalanced. Doug, you've been on the receiving end of some pretty sick stuff. Internet Wars are a scourge of our technological "progress."

His full legal name is actually Adolph Oliver Bush.

Steve Hunt = S. Hunt = Shunt. Hmm. Quite possible...

Im gonna guess the Mike Hunt thing was a joke. Just say that name kind of fast to yourself and you might realize it. Hint: kind of dirty.

That's how I took it. I guess I'm going to have to stop reading OGTS's posts at work. :ohno:

Trust me, you've not seen the worst of it. Most probably, neither have I. As to identity of people who leave comments, unless I actually "know" the person, I'm never in a position to be able to say with certainty who the commenter is. That's true in this case. And even if a person leaves a "real" name, that doesn't mean that the person to whom the name actually belongs made the post. Imposters abound.

At least stop reading them out loud anyway. :D
