Okay, I may be naive on this subject. I know digital television is switching to pure digital by February of next year, but is there any law mandating a switchover date to HD radio as well? Just curious.

There's a difference between HD and digital.

Digital vs. Analog

High Def vs. Standard Def.

The reason people get that confused is that only with a digital signal can HDTV be transmitted. As far as digital radio, I'm not sure. I haven't heard anything about a cutoff.

There are no plans to mandate a switch to HD radio.

Well...Those people are getting a big fat F minus when it comes to letting the public know about a product. All they say is "HD radio is better than sliced bread", then don't explain why it's so cool or why people should buy it.
