Anyone know what the bright object located just above the horizon in the E/SE sky is? I looked on a star chart, but it only showed Neptune in that area. I don't think Neptune would be as bright as the object I am looking at.

It's Rudolph of course!

What else could it possibly be?

Not sure where it is hanging out but isn't mars supposed to be killer bright about right now? I don't recall the last time I looked at the stars. MiB kinda had that effect on me, not to mention the folks who's knees seem to be going the wrong direction

Did it have a slight reddish hue to it, and was it traveling in front of the moon all night long (several fists at arms length distance between the two)? If so this was likely Mars. It was the brightest it has been in a long time the night you posted your comment.
