The OK trails exhibit was way cool...went in Sept. with a friend and her 2 year-old daughter and I loved it!

Great pics! Sucks about the reflections on the bear...that was a good one.

I agree about the Oklahoma Trails exhibit. When I first heard about it, I was like "oh nice...I can go to the zoo to see the animals where I live."

But I went this past summer and was completely impressed. It really showcases the ecological diversity of this state we call home.

I agree. It's well done.

Speaking of the zoo, the zoo director has resigned to go to the Phoenix Zoo, citing difficulty working with the Zoological Society.

Of course on the newsok talkback, people were jumping to conclusions that the Zoological Society is evil (in the vein of OCURA) and I just thought that was completely out of nowhere. Sounds to me like he's just making excuses because he got more money to go somewhere else.

If you want to, you can send me the full-size image of the bear...I may be able to get rid of a lot of that reflection for you.

I haven't seen the Oklahoma Trails but I love the idea. When I visited the Minneapolis and the New Orleans zoos I was impressed with their local animals exhibits. I personally had never seen a moose before I went to the Minneapolis zoo. Zoos attract a lot of out of town visitors and local animals can be new to people from other parts of the country.

Heh...First moose I ever saw was walking down the street in downtown Anchorage. That thing was HUGE.

Reminds me of the old show "Northern Exposure".
