Anyone else noticed the MASSIVE amount of dirt work going on next to Embassy Suites? It looks like a road going in on that land that's just been a dirt dump for years. I'd have a hard time considering it anything but a parking lot for the river taxis because its on the wrong side of Meridian to have enough water to run a taxi.

I know they were looking and announced 4 new hotels in the area, but I thought all of them were going to be on the east side of Meridian. Perhaps that is where they are dumping their dirt?

No, cause they dug out a road size area at least as long as the Embassy Suites.

I've always wondered why 15th dead ends there.

They really should extend 15th street to MacArthur to help take congestion off of I-40 and Reno.

That is happening I don't know that it is what they are doing currently but 15 th will be extended to MacArthur in the near future.

Was in the area so I drove by today. From what I could gather (sorry was driving so couldn't zoom well), it appears they are extending SW 15th West at least a half a mile. I imagine so they can open up more riverfront land for hotel/restaurant development. Here are some pics below (I apologize for the poor quality):
