Looking for any suggestions of food or take-out places that will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Any information would be most appreciated.

Most of your buffet places are always open Thanksgiving Day (Fire Mountain, Furr's, Golden Corral, Hometown Buffet). There is also a decent restaurant in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on NW Expressway and May that has a Thanksgiving Buffet. Nikz used to have one as well, however they are now closed and opening up a steakhouse on Memorial Rd. Usually the Gazette is a good source of information on what restaurants are open for Thanksgiving Day as well as places that pre-cook meals for the holiday.

Last year some friends and I ate at Buffalo Wild Wings on Thanksgiving.

Even though I'll likely be alone this year, I'll be deep frying a turkey or three.

Mackie Macknears and Western Sizziln have been adveritising for a week now that they will be open on Thanksgiving. They will be serving all the trimmings and the regular stuff as well.

More and more places are open on Thankgiving because more and more people are dining out and going the catering route.

Most of the grocery stores are also offering take out meals.

You might also try Pioneer Pies and Marie Calendar's in Norman. I know both of these places have to be good because people line up around the outside of their buildings picking up Thankgiving pies and Thanksgiving dinners almost every year.

MiMi's cafe on Memorial has an excellent Turkey dinner.

I'll be in South Carolina, Myrtle Beach this year.. but if I were home, I'd definitely hit up Mimi's or something similar.

The last few years, I've cooked the full turkey feast ( I swear by brining) but I'm feeling that the only really great thing about slaving over a stove for 12 hours ( beside watching the family scarf it all down in three minutes flat) is leftovers.

Hey, what's the name of that BBQ place that served free Thanksgiving meals last year? I remember seeing the story on tv. I want to say Sooner Bar-B-Q.
