The Seattle SuperSonics move to OKC is looking more definite with each news release. The Sonics are filing for arbitration to get out of their arena lease (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3030622). Here an excerpt from the most recent.

"I absolutely know the team can survive and be profitable in Oklahoma City. ... It will certainly work today a heck of a lot better than it's working here today," Bennett said, with a small chuckle. "The Ford Center [there] is quite adequate -- but another building would be needed in the future.

"I can assure you there is high interest in bringing the league to Oklahoma City."

Bennett sounds like a prospective owner trying to lure an NBA expansion franchise. Looks like the (smart) money says the NBA will be in OKC in 2008-2009.

Get ready for a real fight!

As Seattle tries to tie the Sonics feet to KeyArena, this will definitely BACKFIRE!

Seattle is not going to keep the Sonics or be considered for a future expansion franchise until they build a new arena.

Currently, the City of Seattle gets all of the arena revenue from the sale of Suites and the Sonics have the highest lease payments at $1.2 million a year.

No locals (Seattelites would want to own the Sonics with what they've put Howard (Starbucks) Schultz through and now Bennett & Company!
