Scanning some of my old links, I ran across this one, and promptly remembered why I bookmarked it. This has to be THE most ignorant utterance ever made by a creationist.

"One of the most basic laws in the universe is the Second Law of Thermodynamics. This states that as time goes by, entropy in an environment will increase. Evolution argues differently against a law that is accepted EVERYWHERE BY EVERYONE. Evolution says that we started out simple, and over time became more complex. That just isn't possible: UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy. If there were such a source, scientists would certainly know about it. "

How do you get far enough in life to be able to type on a message board, yet never have looked up when outside?

Sadly, he was serious. It sounds like a parody, but he had consistently uttered such things before and after that post. It's mind boggling. He later tried to defend his position by stating that the Sun does not actually supply much energy to Earth....

That is a stupid thing for that guy to say.

It is also stupid to say that an amount of energy would postulate an increase in complexity.

In the context of the argument, that the second law of thermodynamics would make evolution impossible, it is very applicable. the state of entropy is not reachable due to a continuous source of energy. This completely invalidates the argument.
The argument was hooey to start with, this is simply the most glaring and easy to point out reason.
Imagine a guy was stabbed, shot, ran over, and burned. Cause of death: heart failure. Yes, any one of those things could have, and likely did cause his heart to stop, but rather than go into the details of the death, it is easiest to point at the non beating heart and verify death has occurred in a way that even the dumbest participant can follow.
