Hey everyone, I'm going to be relocating from OKC to Bloomington, MN next month and am in the process of trying to find a moving company. Does anyone have any recommendations? We are looking for a full-service company, not a do-it-yourself place like U-haul or something like that.

Thanks in advance!

It's been awhile so I don't have a personal recommendation but check out this site first:

There's an article on how to find a reputable mover.

Good luck!

Having just had a really bad experience moving last year my best suggestion is to do ALOT of research about the company you're interested in. The links that are posted above are full of great info and will save you alot of heartache. We waited almost a month and half for our belongings to show when it was supposed to be a week at the most. It was our fault in the long run but had we done some more research and armed ourselves with the knowledge it would have been a lot less painful. Good luck and hope it is a better experience for you.

I would recommend looking into PODS(Portable On-Demand Storage). We used one when we move here from TX. They leave the unit at your house and you can hire a service to load it for you, then you place your lock on it. PODS will then come and get it an either ship it directly to the next location, or in our case, they stored it first while we were waiting to sell our house, then when we moved in temp housing. When we were ready to move in, they delivered the PODS unit and we had a service come and unload it. I've moved many times and as far as the stuff part, it was the least stressful move I've ever had.

PODS is more expensive, especially if you use a load/unload service, than U-Haul, but they are WAY cheaper than a full-service mover. I too remember bad moves when I was a kid with the big full service movers and several items being broken and my parents fighting with the company for compensation.

I would highly recommend them. PODS - Reinventing Moving and Storage > HOME (http://www.pods.com)
Hope this helps.

I used Big Brother's moving company earlier this year. They were fast, friendly, and very cautious with your belongings, very affordable for an across town move. That's all I really know, is from my personal experience.
