As Luke mentioned before, this new spa is moving into the Montgomery Building. This will add something new to the downtown OKC market and will add a nice upscale touch to the Montgomery.

The Cosmopolitan Salon & Spa to open in The Montgomery at 500 West Main
Downtown Oklahoma City will have its first full-service salon and spa available to the metro area, with the Cosmopolitan Salon and Spa, slated to open in early 2005, although gift certificates will be available for purchase Dec. 1.

"The growth of downtown and the ability to draw customers from close proximity is what made The Montgomery the ideal location,” Cosmopolitan owner Rachel Honeywell said. “In fact, we have 56 potential customers an elevator ride away," said Honeywell referring to the residents who will occupy The Montgomery at capacity.

The Cosmopolitan, one of three full-service salon and spa operations in the state, will occupy nearly 2000 square feet of space on the East side of The Montgomery apartment building. The space will be divided into two parts; one half will be dedicated to facial and body treatments while the other half will contain a trendy salon. The business plan calls for an environment that is ideal for individual patrons, couples, and even special event or wedding parties.

When visiting one of the four modern facial and body treatment rooms, patrons will be able to choose from a long list of spa treatments such as mud wraps, detox wraps, parafango and paraffin wraps. The treatment rooms will also be used for salt scrub and a variety of specialty facials.

The salon portion will feature manicures, pedicures, and a floor plan for seven to twelve cutting stations set up for hair stylists. Stylists will specialize in everything from simple trims and up-do's to custom color, cuts and extensions.
"It's a natural progression for The Montgomery to offer the types of up-scale amenities people would find in downtown luxury housing in other cities,” said Richard I. Tanenbaum, president and CEO of The Gardner Tanenbaum Group, who owns The Montgomery. “We anticipate the residents of The Montgomery will be some of the earliest and most loyal clients for The Cosmopolitan Salon and Spa".

Cool. I really wish the best for The Montgomery and all they're doing.
