I'm happy that our drought is over and it's not hot outside.. I'm loving sitting in the backyard in the evenings - it has been so pleasant..

but I'm tired of the rain! Apparently we have another week of it .. the roads are already flooded and the lakes are filled to capacity.

How do you all feel about it... liking it? hating it? or could care less?

I'm ready for swimming weather.

What's that?

Can you believe all we went through to get the pools ready? They won't even venture outside becauset they might get wet...lol

All we really had to do was dig a hole!

On the plus side, the chance of fire from July 4th fireworks won't be nearly as high this year.

I think the rain sucks. I'm sick to death of it. I love rain, but enough is enough.

I lost my entire yard to the fires last year due to NO rain.

Now I'm losing my yard due to too much of it.

Can't win for losing.:numchucks

Rain needs to STOP. I've never seen so much continuous, relentless bad weather this late into the year.

I'm used to it being a bit rainy in May, then turning hot and dry in the summer. Who knows; maybe it's still May and I just forgot to wind my calendar...

Rain is messing up my yard; rain is preventing me from finishing a storage building in my backyard; rain is screwing up my vacation plans (nothing extravagant, but you really can't enjoy a day at Six Flags if all the rides are water rides...and its apparently supposed to rain down in Arlington, though not quite as much as here.).

This weather is just getting me down. I want some sunshine and blue skies again.

The bottom of my jeans are wet...again. Oh well...I might be moving to Seattle this time next year. I guess this is some sort of test.

oh no. I would never last in Seattle. I completely understand why their suicide rate is so high. I'm depressed just from the rain we have had. I feel like I might drown soon.

The wife and I were just talking this morning about the rain situation. I agree that enough is enough. Everytime I get a day off so I can mow the lawn it is raining! My yard looks worse than it ever has and I am pretty picky about my lawn. My water bill has been very cheap this year though! As has my electric bill compaired to last year now that i think about it.

We made the national news today--CNN and MSNBC--thanks to a couple of idiots who decided to drive through some "standing" water at Ski Island, got stuck, and had to be rescued.

During this, MSNBC brought out their weather guy to show how much rain we were getting and the segment was titled "Worst Weather in America."

!!! I could NEVER deal with the rain in Seattle. I need sunshine, and lots of it, or I get really down. Maybe that's why I've been so crabby lately. I was in Austin last week, it rained every day there too, but it would shower for a while, then sun, shower, sun, so it wasn't so bad.

if i had to pick between the rain staying or the hornets leaving, i'd pick the rain to stay.

We're supposed to get our parking lot repaved at our apartment complex, but I know they can't do that until it stops raining...but in the meantime, the pavement gets weaker and weaker, and the potholes just keep getting bigger and bigger...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who starts getting discouraged by this weather...

I'm suffering from SAD ..... and I'm sad that we are supposed to have even more rain!

I never believed SAD was a real condition until this winter when it was so icy...and now I believe it even more...

I'm glad we're getting the rain, but I wish it would hit at night when we're all asleep. I was dying to play catch all day but you know us baseball players...we're afraid of the rain. Anyways, I find yellow grass to be more depressing than a lot of rain so I'll take the unpopular road here and say the rain is the lesser of two evils. Anyone here ever been out west in the high desert? Remember how depressed you were? Give me a wet forecast with a little sun over a drought ANY TIME.

Does anybody remember the couple of days or so that we had sunshine?

It was a freakin' sauna outside. I would like to see the sun again, but I dread what it brings. This is summer and this is Oklahoma.

I'm pretty sure that our news stations know to set up a camera crew to get video of these idjits losing their cars when they attempt to cross the dam. I've seen similar video from there before.

(there being that area by silver lake)

I have tried really hard not to complain about the rain....Because last year we were literally burning up..But...
I am missing playing golf, swimming in my new pool, we missed a trip out of town on the motorcycle this weekend....

But...What was the high temp last June 30???And all the lakes were drying up and...you could drive out along the country roads and the ponds and tanks were almost gone...So...We prayed for rain...and we prayed...
I think God has answered our prayers and our cup runneth over....
So I try not to complain as I don't want it to stop raining and then forget to rain again....LOL..

We are saving lots of money staying home so not buying as much expensive gas, not running up our water or electric bills...Giving our AC's a little break so maybe they will run longer...trying to look at the positive...LOL

See, we can sit here and say, "we had it so much worse last year" but frankly, both situations...drought and flooding...have their major problems. One is not better than the other.

Yesterday, I decided I would not complain anymore because it's getting to be just so ridiculous that it's incredibly funny to me. I needed to run to the pharmacy...when I left, it was pouring. 5 minutes later when I arrived, the sun was peeking through the clouds. By the time I got home 10 minutes later, it was pouring again. Good thing I wore a hat.

I think I'm finding it funny because it's wearing so thin on my nerves. I hate driving in wet weather (my one and only real accident happened in a heavy rainstorm on I-40) and people drive crappy when it rains. I'm not worried about my apartment, since I'm on the 2nd floor, but I am concerned about my mother's house because it is so old and not in great repair. But I was concerned last year when the ground was cracking away from her foundation. Neither situation is good!

So that's my opinion. I won't complain anymore, although I'll admit it has had me a little depressed.

I won't complain about the temps, though. We had a summer like this once back home...not as much heavy rain but we kept getting the remnants of different tropical systems that hit the TX coast. It was kind of nice. But it wasn't flooding all the time.

I'm so glad I spent $40 bucks on tomato plants to watch the plants drown to death. So young, so tragic!
Their funerals are tomorrow, 10am.
Please no flowers, send your contributions to the Okiekatt Tomato Rescue Fund.

Besides dead plants and having to eat store bought tomatoes for a whole another year, I'll bet you can guess, it sucks to live in Guthrie right now. Town cut in half and there were more people downtown tonight "looky louing" than there is for 89ners. Geeeeee I wonder how I know that?

Hi my name's Lou, last name Looky. LOL

No it wasn't me, but I know that guy, he's a real Jerk. ;)

Doesn't the "Make My Day" Law cover the driveway and front yard? Just remember to shout "he's coming right for me " just before you blow him away. :D

Heck no, he was in my back yard...Checking stuff out. I could have just set him on fire, and nobody would have asked. :D

This is what it looked like after we finally got it out.
