I'm doing the no-rain-tomorrow-evening dance right now!! I will be plopped in my little OU chair right in front of the stage for Shane and Aranda.

Man, I swear. I am tired of the few events that are planned downtown moving! Do these event planners not live in Oklahoma? Are they not familiar with our weather? DIDN'T THEY SEE GARY ENGLAND ON THE DAILY SHOW? DON'T THEY KNOW ABOUT DOPPLER 9000 EXCELL? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I'm going for a margarita...I mean lunch.

Misty,

This rainy weather is very unusal for OKC. I can't recall a year with so much rain. Are you suggesting that we discontinue outdoor events because of one wet season?

Also, they are not moving the festival to the fairgrounds. Don't know where that came from.

Thanks for the info Kim! I'm very glad they aren't moving this. Of course I'm not suggesting we discontinue outdoor events, that's ridiculous. Any outdoor event needs to be planned knowing that inclement weather is always a possibility. I’ve done a lot of event planning and some of the events I’ve seen here are a little baffling and could have been planned better. The weather guys here are awesome, we always know well ahead of time what's coming. Believe me, I've seen HUGE improvements in this city & with the various events since I lived here previously, but I think we still have a lot of room to grow as well. Obviously the info about the festival moving was incorrect, my comments were based on how ridiculous it would have been to plan this, then move it (day of).

Hmm.. Sorry for the incorrect information. I guess that is what happens when you get info second hand. A friend emailed me this afternoon and said b/c of the rain it was relocated to the fairgrounds. I guess you could always call the OK Blues Society to get the correct information.

Yeah, I thought it seemed odd to move the BRICKTOWN Blues Fest to the fairgrounds.

Oh GAWD the Smell!

The most important question in my mind right now is: While I'm down there enjoying the good music and a beer or two...WHO IS PROVIDING THE BBQ?

If it's Rib Crib, I'm not goin':053:

Exactly. If one would go with first hand information (i.e. the article), one would have read the following line directly from it.

Rain or Shine. Come and enjoy Championship BBQ, Ice-Cold Budweiser served in souvenir pitchers, soft drinks, T-shirts, hats, & more.

Aranda is definitely not blues...

Aranda may not be your traditional blues band - but they do play some blues, and they did play some blues last night. They also know how to entertain any type of crowd. They sold out on every item of their merchandise last night and stood there for a solid hour signing autographs.
