The 7th annual deadCENTER Film Festival opens Wednesday, June 6 screening 100 local, national and international films through Sunday, June 10. Once again the festival is in the deadCENTER of downtown Oklahoma City with screenings at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, the Individual Artists of Oklahoma Gallery, Kerr Park, the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library, the Harkins Bricktown Theater, the Skirvin Hotel, and the lawn at 3rd and EK Gaylord.

Below are two highlights - check out the website at deadcenterfilm.org for the complete line-up!

Groundhog Crossing
Thursday, June 7th at 7pm at Harkins
Saturday, June 9th at 5:30pm at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art

Sometime after last year's famous Groundhog prediction of yet another six more weeks of winter (96 times in the last 100 or so years), the Shadow falls into a deep depression. Self-saddled into believing that he (and he
alone) has been and will continue to be responsible for more cold and misery for most of the world, he concludes an unimaginable decision; that Punxsutawney, PA would be better off without him. A charming 'road-movie'
with a Morgin Freeman-esque narrator, this film documents the emotional and logistic challenges of Punxsutawney Phil and his Shadow as they criss-cross the US trying to get back home.

My Secret Record - Filmmaker in Attendance!
Thursday, June 7th at 9:30pm at Harkins Bricktown Theater Friday, June 8th at 7:30pm at Harkins Bricktown Theater

An engaging documentary that follows Matchbox Twenty member Rob Thomas as he records the solo CD that would debut at #1 on the Billboard charts in late
2005 - the hype, the marketing, the publicity and all the accompanying frustrations. Filmmaker Gillian Grisman has unrestricted access to Thomas - the result is a very incisive and humorous look at the record industry's machinations.
