Default Boise State - Oklahoma: A Classic

What a game! An OU loss and yes, I'm disappointed. But, make no mistake, OU didn't lose as much as Boise State won. They deserved the victory and proved they belonged in a BCS game playing with the "big boys" (of which they joined tonight).

One of the greatest endings in the history of college football. David vs. Goliath. A major bowl game watched my millions - this one won't be forgotten anytime soon. A classic college football game.

Congratulations to Boise State. Yes, we know who you are now.

I agree!! I was mad they lost, but Boise State did PLAY the game and came to win. They did deserve the win. OU really showed up in the end, and Boise played the whole game and played it well........what a nail biter, my husband said that I needed to go run a few miles so I would go to sleep after that game!! UGH!

I think my father-in-law said it best last night, Bob Stoops and OU are almost worthless in a bowl game anymore. Stoops was good in bowls his first couple of years. They work hard all year and show up at a bowl game and almost act as if they aren't excited to be there. Look how excited Boise State was all game. For the highest paid coach in NCAA, you think he'd be a little more excited and pumped before and during the game. I think OU needs to change part of his salary to performance based.

I totally agree with you and your Father in law! I said that very thing to my husband lastnight that they were just THERE, not really really THERE! I think Boise state looked pumped, enthusiastic, excited, ready and able to win. The fans as you said were undeniably ecstatic to be there and watch a first for that team! Even as an Oklahoma Football fan (both OSU and OU) I congratulate BSU for not only winning but really being a WINNER in all aspects of the word.

I agree with your father-in-law. I too have been ultra-disappointed with OU's postseason play since the 2000 Orange Bowl. And there were many apathetic stares amongst OU players as the game started.

But, all of this disappointment can only lead me to believe that bigger and better things are ahead. You can't win every big game every year, and OU is only losing 6 starters for next year. Hopefully the new QB recruit will heat things up, and we can finally "finish" a season next year!

Sure it's a downer, but really didn't mean much in the grand scheme of things...5th year seniors played in all 4 BCS bowls...Stoops is still one of the top 3 coaches in the nation...Only so much you can do and then it's up to the players to perform

Perfectly satisfied with our current coach....Great year

I also agree with your points. Only so much a coach can do. I have 3 children who play soccer, one that is a competitive player for ESC, and in the Olympic development program. The coach is the best you can get, but even he cannot make them win if they do not want it bad enough, good point 180.

Okay, well either way, the team OU and Stoops (coach) haven't seemed like they want to be in bowl games lately. They get too cocky and aren't as excited as the other team it has seemed the last few years.

Now all we need to do is dump Baylor from the Big 12, and bring Boise State on. Baylor deserves to play in a conference like Conf. USA or the WAC. Anyone with me?
