Stoops or Switzer?
So has Stoops surpassed Barry Switzer in the hearts and minds of Oklahomans yet?
I would say not quite, personally. But a Nat'l Championship this year puts him over the top! *laughs* Your opinion?

I regard them as equals. Probably because I was born in '80 and didn't get to really follow OU in his prime.

Following the Sooners in the Switzer era required fans to pay as much attention to the police blotter as they did the sports page. Stoops is a quantum leap ahead of Switzer in terms of the overall benefit his tenure has had for the state and for OU.

Different times, different styles of coaching and recruiting all together not a fair comparison in my mind. Bob is great at what he does in today's world and Barry did a great job in his day. One is not better than the other just great at what they do/did when they are/were doing/did it.
