Default OSU Quaterback controversy

What do you guys think about the quarterback controversy at OSU? Personally, I don't think Donovan Woods has looked all that great in any of his games. I'd be more in favor of seeing more action from Pena or Beeghley (maybe a combination of the two) until Bobby Reid is healthy once again. If OSU expects to continue winning football games they're going to have to put together a better passing attack. Sure, it's great that they have a running game, but the running game should set up a successful passing game. I'm just not quite sure what Les Miles is thinking here. He's an offensive man...he should know the importance of a balanced passing/running attack.

OSU has yet to have to do anything besides Morency right, left and up the middle to win. If vanilla rushing plays win the game for you and you execute well, then that's great. An OSU QB right now doesn't need to be able to read defenses. Just get the ball to V-Mo and everything is okay.

That'll probably change when they play someone a little tougher than SMU.

I just think with some of the easier teams they've played, when they've been up by 20 or so, they should've gone ahead and put the quarterbacks in and switched to a passing offense just to give them a little more practice.

This reminds me of OU's problems last year. They startedout trying to run the ball. But mid-season they found that the passing game was working well. After that they went with what worked and almost abandoned the running game. I think that's what really hurt them in the Big 12 Championship and the National Championship games. I really hope OU continues to keep a balanced approach even if they're not putting 60 points on the board. As long as they win, I think keeping a balanced approach in tact will help OU later in the season.

I agree with OU. I think we'll see an incredibly different team this week against Texas. I saw maybe 8 plays against Texas-Tech.

OU is like OSU in the respect that they CAN win the game if they just hand the ball off to any one of the members of their talented stable of RB's. The big difference is that Oklahoma has an incredible passing game whereas OSU's QB couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
