Several weeks ago a state of emergency was called in Norman after OU lost to TCU. The state of emergency continues. What will it take to get the Sooners out of their slump. Will the flames continue.
Meanwhile, while OU is at code Yellow, OSU is at Code red. They may in fact not win another game this season. |

Looks like Stoops may be looking to the Junior Colleges for a QB replacement, at least that's what he said in his medica press conference this past week. Could another Josh Heupel be on the horizon?
I think the biggest problems with OU are that most of the players from the class of 2003 recruiting class are no longer at OU. Thus, Stoops is having to rely on mostly inexperienced Freshmen. I'm surprised they haven't asked Thompson to step up to the plate, with as bad as Bomar has been playing. It's as if they never really gave him much of a chance. If you want to get right down to it, Bomar lost the TCU game and got this year off to a bad start. It was his fumble that cost us a score and put us behind. I'm not really a big fan of Bomar. He's cocky. I have some friends at OU in Norman. They say every time Bomar introduces himself to women at a club, he simply goes up to them and says, "I'm Rhett Bomar," in that kind of high and mighty voice! As if they better bow to him because he's the starting QB for the Sooners. |

No, Barry Sanders would laugh in your face at the idiocy of the statement that football and OSU don't go together. This has been an excellent era of football, and now with a rebuilding year, ONE SEASON less than halfway done, with a big loss of seniors, massive injury problems, and over half a dozen guys kicked off the team by a brand new coach setting his rules and enforcing them, that's Chicken Little behavior.
OSU already has the best basketball facility in the nation, and is now building an equally outstanding football stadium. Les Miles left in somewhat questionable circumstances and it's to be expected that it takes a while to overcome that. ANY team would be struggling now with what they've been through. And they STILL have a winning record. What is with the hysterical panicing? No, it's not gonna be a great year. No, we're probably not going to a big bowl or anything. But heavens sake, to abandon the whole deal over two losses (one extremely close) is...well, it's something I'd expect from fans of another school about 70 miles to the south. I still remember the "Bury Barry" stickers, so patience and loyalty are a little short supply sometimes among the red ones. |
