Default Steriods and Professional Sports

My question is spurred by the recent media story on Rafael Palmeiro, the first baseman for the Baltimore Orioles who has tested positive for performance enhancing steroids. If professional sports players are role models to be looked up to by our young Americans, and make millions of dollars a year, then why are drug testing policies so lenient?

That's a loaded question. Not all drug testing policies are lenient.

I personally find in the media that drug testing policies throughout professional sports are very lax. This is just a mere opinion. The $$$$$$$ made by the players and the $$$$$$$ made by the cities and other advocates want to protect their assets and good American stereotype.

Drug testing in MLB is very lax and that's why the government is getting involved.

Other sports are pretty good when it comes to drug testing.
