Granted I love soccer, I played it so i'm alittle biased. But, golf...I think I fell asleep 3 times yesterday watching the US open. I hear ppl complaining it takes baseball players too long to get into the batters' box, but I timed one player. It seriously took him 7 mins to line up a shot. I understand its such a "mental" sport. What sport isn't? Just striking up a convo.

I think all sports besides college football and boxing are boring to watch on television. I can participate in any sport or watch it live.
But not on tv.

Especially golf - if Happy Gilmore isn't involved, I'm out.

Actually, soccer bores me more. At least in golf, every few plays there is a result. Soccer not so much. Scores of 0-0, 1-2, etc. bore me to no end. I suppose when the kiddo is old enough, I'll be more into it.

golf is more boring, imo. Soccer has action, excitement, mobs tearing town fences and stuff there may not be much scoring, but it is a lot more fun to watch. Since i am old and fat, golf is more fun to play. I would die on a soccer field.

In soccer team players get KILLED if they dont produce, that argentina player a few world cups ago that scored and "own goal" and was shot to death after the game. Now that is pressure haha.

Oh, I dunno, I've never had one person tell me I am too pudgy to sit there sucking down a cold drink while little tin folk run their tiny lil' smurf selfs into a tizzy.

I, too, have a soccer background and seem to love the "Scores of 0-0, 1-2, etc." that Mayo does not. I can appreciate peoples opinion of it as I know most like to see scores on the board. There is so much to it other than goals but I do understand!

Golf - let me just say that I always thought it was a waste of time. Lately however (probably past 5 years) I have found myself trying to catch as much of it as possible. I don't even play golf! I think it is the beauty of the game that I like so much. The courses, the challenges, the whole bit.

My other dark tendency? Cycling. Don't even get me started. If there was a cycling channel other than VS or the old OLN during July (the Tour de France), I would watch it non-stop..

For me, soccer is the most boring...hands down. I've played soccer and can appreciate the player's athleticism and skill, but I just can't watch it. It's a total snore-fest. Not that golf is that great either, but at least if the coverage is good they tend to keep things moving from one golfer to the next. And since I still play golf, it's fun for me to watch the display of skill by the pros.

Yesterday's US Open playoff was pretty nail-biting though. 45yr old Rocco Mediate hung with Tiger for 18 holes, but finally lost in sudden death.

soccor, I just cant get into that game, I think it is funny that you see the most fan fights when it comes to soccor(that is the only time that it is not boring)

Except for the World Cup. I will stay up all night to watch those games.

I am a little biased. I now live in San Diego home of soccer moms where they don't keep score and no one wins or loses or has their feelings hurt after a game.

I actually enjoy both, but since Soccer is far and away the greatest sport on the planet (and my personal favorite!) I have to vote Golf.

You've got to love a sport that can be played while enjoying a refreshing six pack. Golf is a great sport that you can play into your 60's. Soccer, I just don't get it. But I will give it up to soccer players for having the endurance to run like 5 miles in one game. It's just so boring.

I don't know why you're even having this discussion when there's bowling.
