Default Recent NBA incident

Okay, by now I'm sure everyone has heard about the incident between the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons, which dragged the audience into it. What do you guys think about this? Do you feel the punishments were appropriate? Several players were suspended for the rest of the season, and many fans will be charged for their actions.

Personally, I don't think anger towards a player gives fans the right to ridicule a player with insults and throwing things, but at the same time, I don't think professional athletes should go into the stands like that. Let security handle it. Don't take your anger out on the fans, even if they're throwing things at you. Sire, the fans involved deserve getting charged with battery, but the players involved also deserve being suspended for a year.

A year? Let me see. You do drugs. You get maybe a season if that. You work over a fan. You get a season. You bet on sports including your own. You are out for life. Funny. Drugs kill. Working over someone can kill. Betting harms no one. Triple standard.

The players should be suspended for life... After conviction. Suspend pending trial for now.

Hmmm...I never looked at it that way. Interesting comparison.

I'm glad that South Carolina University and Clemson won't be accepting Bowl Bids this year. Their students appeared to copy off the NBA incident. This discipline at the College level is definitely going to hit hom, especially to those that needed the bowl game the most.

Back to the NBA incident, this may sound funny, but I've heard people on the sports animal, including Mark Rogers, say that a season suspension was too much for these players. I don't agree. If anything,I think they're getting off easy. Some of the behavior we see today in the NBA is inexcusable from so-called professionals. Again, where are our moral standards today? It's time to start setting a good example for our young people again. These athletes need to realize that they're role models, and their behaviors are impacting an entire generation of kids.

I think the suspention to Artest is just right. Besides, he wanted a couple months off to promote his CD anyway. Ben Wallace's and the guys who got one game for coming off the bench suspensions was just right too. Jackson's and O'Neil's, I'm not sure about. I know that it truly sucks that because of a couple drunk morons that the whole city of Detroit has to go though the whole "Wow, look what a bad place it is" buisness with the media, especially since it has a anti-Detroit bias anyway. At the same time Artest is an idiot for going up to the stands also. Has anyone seen the interviews that he did yesterday? Yeah...definately not a bright one.

If this happened at any other place of business while on duty, the people involved would most likely be fired. I say those involved be fired and charged. The fans in the crowd need to do time too.

We can't allow these things to happen. And the consequences need to be stiff. Unfortunately, I have a feeling we'll see more incidences like this in all parts of society, not less.
