Thread: New Condo Project in Midtown

Default New Condo Project in Midtown

I noticed that they have started working on the old Guardian Garage located just north of 10th Street on Robinson. I was told that Banta is planning to have 22 units ranging from 1,000 s.f. to 1,500 s.f. and that the units will have 10' plus ceilings. The building has amazing windows. There will also be gated covered parking behind the building. Units should be ready this fall.

I think we are going to see some condo's that are priced less than $200,000 at the Guardian. I noticed that they are repairing the brick and cast stone on the front of the building and have almost finished gutting the interior. I have always thought that this was such a cool building because of the windows.

Yep, per the Midtown Update thread, or the Oklahoman article that was posted in that thread:

•The old Guardian funeral home garage will be converted into 22 condominiums that will sell between $170,000 and $370,000. Next door, plans are being drawn up to convert the former Guardian Funeral Home into an event center, but Banta is prepared to change it into offices if a company makes a bid to occupy the entire property.

I'm not even gonna think about the nightmares that might come about from living in a condo that was formerly a funeral home, but there's definitely a B movie plot in there somewhere.

I would find it exciting to live in such a place.
