Regardless of the location and the veracity of the proposal, there's a lot to say about the design in general. Concerts have been getting more expensive and exclusive and the culture of live music is changing... for the worse in most respects. This venue is specifically designed to cater to wealthier clientele. Like half the place is devoted to "suites". I assume the pit near the stage will be expensive. The main audience gets stuck way back on bleachers looking across the field of fancy "fireplace suite" folks. I just imagine that being a weird vibe, especially seeing as the suite people are going to be catered to all night with food and drinks.
Odd that they are emphasizing so much upcharge space while also building a "cheap" amphitheater. I guess the reserved spaces would be even more jarring in an enclosed environment. What happens when it rains? Do the suites get to put up tents and block the view of the stands?
I can't imagine seeing a typical rock act in this environment. I guess it could work for most country/bluegrass folks, and the typical acts that tour casinos...
I started a new job in Mustang about two years ago and in just those two years the town has grown so much. Lots of new housing editions. I'm not surprised these developers are deciding to build here (although the location is technically in Yukon). I just wish the parking was going UP instead of OUT. Seems like a lot of wasted real estate.
If it happens, it happens. I'm not a fan of outdoor concerts, so I won't go. For those that like it, more power to you.
after reviewing their site, it appears that the OKC location is a go and that the "investors" are those who will purchase suites/fire pits.
It shows 87 available out of 120 (as of Jul 17), meaning some 33 spots have been purchased at Oklahoma City. Coincidentally, it shows Tulsa as "coming soon", indicating it is not been purchased like OKC has.
Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
My gut reaction when seeing this story was “I’ll believe it when I see it,” but after spending some time on their site, including reading some of their media links (such as WSJ and Denver Post articles) I really do get the impression that they are legit and that they have their **** together.
I believe I’d actually previously red the WSJ article, but if not I know I’ve read similarly-themed pieces discussing the trend they’re riding in the live music industry, which is the opening of high-quality live music venues in underserved mid-sized markets.
I know things in OKC are presently light-years better in the live music department than they were even 5-10 years ago, but there is still much room here for a venue of the size proposed and ESPECIALLY for a better outdoor venue. This pains me to say, because I’m pretty emotionally attached to Zoo Amp. Not only because I have many great memories there, but also because I’ve recently discovered that my very own grandfather (one I never knew) was almost certainly involved in the construction of Zoo Amphitheater when he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (WPA) during the Great Depression. I would love so much to see major reinvestment in Zoo Amp, but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see if this new amphitheater at Mustang Creek will come to fruition, but at the very least in my opinion on the surface it doesn’t seem to be a scheme or a scam.
This is as rudimentary an estimate as you can make, but their Colorado Springs amphitheater which is fully funded cost $40,000,000 and they sold 90 suites. So dividing those two numbers would suggest that they're asking just shy of $450k per suite.

I believe her father/family is the developer of Mustang Creek. I was in a meeting with him a couple of years ago and he was more fired up about what I believe must be this development (based on described location) than he was about the topic we were discussing. I haven’t really kept up with this development, but I’m pretty sure that’s the story.
I would be surprised if they do this with all equity. Likely they'll have some bank financing, maybe 50% - 60% of the total. Also, they're selling 12 super suites which I imagine will go to corporate owners so those will probably cost multiples of the 8-person suite. And hopefully they're putting some cash into the deal themselves, aka "skin in the game". This is a total guess, but I'd expect the suites to come in between $50-$100k. But lots of unknowns around the structure of the deal s I could be way off.
That's an unfortunate consequence of their naming convention. When there is only one Wendy's in a city, they appear to name themselves the name of the city; when there are more than one Wendy's in a city, then they switch to the road name. There is one Wendy's in Mustang, and one Wendy's on Mustang.
"Two days after unveiling plans to open an outdoor amphitheater in Oklahoma City, Notes Live announced Thursday that it plans to build a similar venue in the Tulsa area."
