I haven't looked around too much, but if a similar thread exists I don't mind being redirected to that one.

I was wondering if anybody here has run into any establishments that serve regional food items from other areas? An example I can give is that I was looking for a California burrito. What makes it a California burrito is that it contains no rice or potatoes, but it does have french fries. Often served with guac, sour cream, cheese, and asada.

I've looked around the city and found 2 places that serve it more accurately than most: el sabor de la baja and taco picoso. Of the two I prefer taco picoso.

Other regional items I've given thought to was mild sauce (chicago) and half smoke (dc)
