Yeah, you can't care about matchups without caring about seeding. They're intrinsic.
I think the idea being conveyed is that being "#1" for the sake of #1 maybe isn't as important right now as getting a desirable match up regardless if that means being #2 or #3.
Yes I guess I could of said that better but everything in the West is so bunched and evenly matched we most likely won't know who we will be playing until the last game of the year. I could see a bunch of these teams losing or going all out, to win, last couple of games trying to get a matchup rather than a seed as long as your in the top 6. Does that make a bit more sense?
Example. Last game of the year we are tied for the 2 spot. Dallas and New Orleans is tied for 6th Lakers could possibly be 7th. Do we win and keep the 2 seed and possibly play the Lakers or do we lose drop to 3 that would push Dallas to 5 and get the Pelicans at 6?
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is doubtful tomorrow vs the Suns.

Full house tonight vs the Suns. Minnesota win means they now have the tie breaker vs OKC and Denver. They in the driver seat right now. They still have to play the Lakers, Suns twice, Rockets, Denver so not a real easy schedule Denver has the easiest schedule of the 3 teams but the Murray hurt who knows. I really want the Suns in the first round.
Kings would by my choice. Great performance by Thunder. Giddy has been on a heater.
Reserves are getting valuable experience in Mark Daigneault's rotation scheme without SGA. Thunder should be ready come the playoffs.
Hope SGA will be operating at 100%.
https://x.com/wojespn/status/1774197774428356716?s=20 Kings in the first round now for me.
OMG what a blow to the Sacramento Kings; Thunder have been fortunate to have not sustained a lot of long-term injuries.
New York will be a tough game in MSG this Easter Sunday. Thunder will be presented with another challenge.
BTW: SGA is doubtful for tonight's game against the Knicks.
Looks like SGA is a go tonight against the Knicks with no minutes restriction.

Tough loss tonight vs the Sixers. Really see us ending up in 3rd which actually ok with. 7 games left. We go 5-2 most likely maybe 4 and 3. Looking at Minnesota schedule I see the same 5-2 4-3. So we really need to go 5-2 and Minnesota losses 3. Once to the Suns, Lakers, Nuggets. Denver wins the west schedule too easy plus they only have 6 games left. I guess they could lose to the Clippers and Minnesota so if they went 4-2 and we went 5-2 end up second. 2nd or 3rd I don't care. Suns, Kings, Pelicans we can beat those teams. Than in round 2 Minnesota or Denver. 1 seed we get the Lakers or Warriors and actually both those teams scare me more than the other 3 teams I mentioned.
