It will definitely make a nice connection to the DEQ building (former Anthony's HQ), OCU Law (formerly Central High School), and Regency Tower - all in the Midtown-ish National Memorial zone. This is a home-run to me.

The DEQ building was Built by SWBell as their headquarters. Construction began in 1958. It was never the Anthony’s HQ.

This is the exact kind of building that I have been dreaming of for North of 4th and South of 13th. 10 more of these, please

Definitely was built and utilized by phone company before DEQ. My (first) stepmom worked in that building for AT&T/SWBell in the '70s and '80s. Was chock full of mainframe computers. Interesting place.

The Anthony's headquarters was 701 N Broadway, on the NW corner of Broadway and 6th, one block immediately east of the building in question. Now home to RCB Bank, Stewart Title.

Based on this interview, they are contemplating, hospitality, retail, and restaurant space. Might end up being taller than originally proposed. Especially if they are talking adding hotel rooms.

They are not going to make it taller. If there is a hotel, it will be within the 12 levels as proposed.

    A couple of new renderings.

In the first image, looks like the plan is for a rooftop terrace.

In the second one, you can see there is a proposed restaurant on the corner with an outdoor patio.

This is starting to look like a combination of office space (starting with 3rd floor) and hotel (top floors), with ground-floor retail, lobby and restaurant.

I can get down on TIF for this. This is a great development in the important transition area between CBD and the most active parts of Midtown

They submitted their plans for downtown design review. Nothing really new.

They have yet to submit building permits, so we are still several months out (best case) before they start work.

They have decided to not go forward with the proposed expansion of the parking garage.

I'm sure once they got everything priced out something had to be cut.

Noticed how close they are to The NW 5th Street Parking Garage. They'll work some kind of agreement for spaces like Heartland Payments & The Gaylord Downtown YMCA were able to do for their employees and patrons.
