Oh yeah, RIP Sinead O'Connor, fantastic artist but highly troubled person.

RIP Randy Meisner. Original member of The Eagles and then in POCO.

Poco actually came before the Eagles in his case. In both instances he was eventually replaced by Timothy B. Schmit.

Schmidt could never hit those Meisner high notes though. He was indeed a troubled man. My understanding of him was he may have been too "simple" to run with the wild Glenn and Don show at the time. Coke, booze, and tearing out the walls were too much for him. I think they kicked him out more for those reasons since he didn't care to partake. I don't think he ever fully recovered from not fitting in with them, or getting kicked out of that band, and seemed to spiral into the depths afterward. I feel bad for him.

Here is a bootleg video from their 1977 concert at Capital Centre in Washington. The sound has some problems but his voice is simply amazing. This is pure analog. No computers to help his voice.

He didn't want to perform this song at this show live out of fear of messing up the high notes at the end of the song. At the end when he nails it (around 4:25), you can see him grin and the camera switches to Glenn and you can see how happy and proud Glenn was that he nailed it. Every now and then you see the Eagles break and actually enjoy playing with each other, like that. But the backstage turmoil was unreal.

It's so depressing to see so many of my favorite rock & roll musicians die.

Very, very sad day for me. I have at least 50 Buffett songs on my devices.

Saw JB for the first time as the front band for the Eagles at the Myriad. Became a life long fan. It’s a sad day but what a life that guy lived. Actually just finished a book that was written about the back story of many of his songs.

It hasn't been reported but it appears he'd been afflicted from some form of cancer.

A good movie quote from Knocked up when they are about to have the baby and Seth Rogan tells the Dr. (Ken Jeong) they want “an experience.” Doctor response - “ If you want a special experience go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.”

Drank with him at Bunker after a show at Tower a few years ago. Unfortunately it sounds like liver damage is what took him down, so now I’m conflicted about that evening. He had an episode of some sort on the road only a few days after that night, and sounds like he never fully recovered from that.

Hughes Van Ellis, one of last Tulsa Race Massacre survivors, dies at 102. Died Monday night in Denver, Colorado, according to a family statement shared by Tulsa Democratic Rep. Regina Goodwin, whose family survived the massacre.
