This is one of those articles where the urban liberal reporters leaves the bubble and is surprised to find that we no longer use the horse as our primary means of transportation and we no longer have one room school houses here in central US.

First of all, how in the world do you automatically fall into the lazy trap of labeling a journalist as being liberal? Is it your preconceived notion because they are from the east or west coast? Perhaps you are using stereotyping in the way you accuse them of.

Many in other parts of the country do look at OK, as well as our neighbors, as somewhat locked in the past and a little backwards. Certainly our reputation for right wing tea party support that they hear about supports their notions. So, when a reporter come here and finds there are actually other storie, more contemporary stories, they like to point it out.

I mean it’s a documented fact journalists are predominantly liberal. You can pick apart a lot of other things he said but he is using facts.

This is a very popular technique... attack the person and not the story. It’s a great tea party tactic. Ad Hominem is the most used fallacy there is.

Oh Rover, the Clintons perfected Ad Hominem and currently being used well against Trump.

These kind of articles are typical of "journalists"/reporters on the big city coasts when they visit middle america. I have read them a bunch during presidential elections where "journalists" visit Iowa and find out not everyone are racists and bigots.

Sorry to get your blood boiling Rover. It was not my intention. Just stating it how I saw it.

So I get it, let’s ignore what many people on the coasts actually think about OK and blame some journalists .... sorry, LIBERALS, because they point out that there is actually more going on and it may be good. Sounds like liberal bias to me.

Oh, Abe Lincoln maybe used fallacies too, so that justifies the current all out attack on the press by the right.

Well, he is right that it's a common theme where somebody from the coasts visits middle America and is like "hey, they have running water here?"

But Rover is also right that there's really not any reason to insult the author over a highly complimentary piece.
