I have no idea how that added a Yukon logo. For some reason it won't let me edit the post. My apologies.

    Changed it for you.

Pretty sure this would be the site of the old Jackie Cooper dealership:

Very nice! So, this would go into the former Albertson's on the NW corner, right?

Oops. Posted after I saw Pete's map.

  8. Default Re: Uptown Grocery to the Village?

Yeah, after I thought about it, Uptown would need nicer digs than that old building.

The Edmond location and the bank next to it are what I would love see in new development in downtown OKC. It can be done, people just need to have a desire to bring it downtown.

Prime Bank next to Uptown Grocery in Edmond. This is the kind of style I want to see.

An "upscale" (expensive) grocery store at the same intersection as the "upscale" Homeland, and 2.1 miles (google mapped it) from the "upscale" Sprouts Market.... hmm I guess they think they'll grab that Nichols Hills money. Meanwhile the young and the restless in Midtown have the "downscale" Homeland off Classen.

How amazing would an Uptown Grocery be in Midtown??

Like just east or south of Fassler Hall?

They obviously don't read these threads. You'd think someone on their staff would realize they'd be perfect for a location Midtown/Uptown...

But, but I thought we had too many Walmarts within 50 miles of this location for this to even be considered...

In all seriousness, this is great!

    Agree 100%

This uptown in the Village will be nice competition for the Homeland at the same intersection and the Wal-Mart at Penn and Britton. It's good to see the better grocery stores gradually expanding throughout the metro. I think Galliardia and Midtown could use one of these stores also. I would love for a local company like Buy for Less to fill the downtown niche rather than Target or Wal-Mart.

When I worked at Uptown I saw Hank one time and asked him if they were considering it and his wife was with him(she designs the store) and she told me they are looking for a location in Midtown. It would obviously be branded Midtown Grocery(part of Uptown which is part of BFL).

This is now a done deal with the Binowski's buying the former Jackie Cooper BMW site on 3/31/14 for $1.65 million. It is a 5.6 acre parcel.

Plans call for a 55,000 square foot store to open in Spring 2015.

48,000 SF, so this location looks to be a bit larger.

Will it just be the store or will there be a shopping center like the one in Edmond as well?

I believe it will just be a free-standing grocery store.

That store is going to do great there. Homeland is doomed. Good riddance.

That would be the lot on the north side of Berkshire Way, where the two buildings with the white roofs are. The one shown as proposed on the image was the former Lincoln-Mercury dealership.

I really like the way that Homeland turned out. They really stepped up their game.

Uptown will be a little closer to home, so I will end up shopping there.
