Thread: 323 NW 23rd

Goes to show you can't believe half of what you hear. I've seen the site cleared and fwnce up. But I wasn't suspicious of rumor it would have been turned down. A single lane entrance drive through off 23rd feels like a disaster. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I'm not saying for sure that everything is good, but I can't find anything that indicates otherwise.

The drive off 23rd is one-way (in) and from the drawings it looks like 7 cars can be in line without backing up into the street.

Spoke with someone yesterday with close connections to the Dunkin franchisee and was told it is 100% on track.

Also, the parking lot directly north is finished and open.

    Hot take! Lol

Hard to tell in this photo but the north parking lot is completely finished and the footings are being poured.

    Lookin' good!!

I forget but is Queen's Beauty Supply moving or is the landlord just going to spruce up the facade?

Not moving but restoring the original facade.

Note that Queens Beauty Supply has a nice new sign.

This is going to end up blending in really well with the rest of the neighborhood

This turned out pretty well. I remember seeing a lot of slings and arrows being directed at this development a few months back.

This has turned out better than I thought it would...

The wife and I walked around here this past Friday, we actually went and had Urbun for the first time. I cannot wait until they are finished and install some lights, it gets very dark once you pass the 23rd St Piercing place. I agree with the people who call for cutting 23rd down to a 2 lane road, the cars definitely have speed behind them and it just seems very dangerous to walk on the sidewalks, especially since the sidewalks are right on the street with nothing except for the curb.

I like the look of the building very much...the puzzling part is the placement of the two doors on the corner entrance. I guess I just like designs to be symmetrical.

Here is the floorplan for that corner space.

The original plans showed the exterior doors in the middle of the storefront but I suspect they were moved to provide more seating area, which is already limited. There will be patio seating out front.

Also, if it wasn't clear before... Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins will share this space in a co-branding arrangement. Haven't seen building permits for the other spaces in this project.

seems like a LOT of kitchen space for a donut and ice cream shop - just never thought or realized they needed more space than the actual patron area.

but I love the building -anyway- and hope we get more of this.

Such a lovely development. The brick and the accents, it puts a smile on my face.
