They are enforcing an air rights law that Louisiana passed a few years ago. I don't really know the details, just read an article that a friends posted about it. Here's the article: http://m.fox8live.com/wvuefox8/db_35...tguid=RQDGhIqx
Here are a few new images from the Gardner Architect's Instagram page:
That is a seriously beautiful structure. Moar plz.
I would totally be down with more buildings like this one going up.
In Progress — Gardner Architects
They've got a fair amount of stuff in the works in the area.
Wow, this looks fantastic! I'd love to see more of this style building filling in the area.
Yes. This architecture is classy and timeless. I can't wait to see this completed. Really nice.
Very nice! As mentioned very classy and a beautiful structure.
They have these units listed on the MLS for $350 / square foot.
wow...I don't at all believe that's too much, in fact I think it will get even higher, but it's still just so shocking to see numbers like that in OKC.
I can't wait to see this one built!
By looking at their site, it looks like they have a number of units pre-sold.
This is the kind of project I'd love to see more of. I hope he gets his hands on more land around downtown.
There are several small to mid-size condo projects coming soon.
It just seems like good, classy, long-term development. And it doesn't eat up a whole block (I would prefer to have seen this particular development in the middle of the block since it doesn't really address the corner). I really really really want to see more of these types of developments throughout the city. The scale of these lends to a neighborhood feeling more like a neighborhood and less like a complex.
Now that anything newish in this area is selling for well over $300/SF you'll see more of these projects.
They are starting work (from shawnw):
Do you know if they are going to put up a tower crane for this? Or with the room of the parking lot behind it they won't need one?
If the city could get about 200 more projects like this one...
I'd settle for that.
