I was just thinking that some retail in LEVEL East on Walnut might help develop a nice pedestrian connection to the somewhat isolated retail in Maywood II.

Did the district ever raise the money for new signage?

Looks like they are a little under halfway there. And the last donation was over 5 months ago:

That story was almost a year ago and they haven't filed any sort of design plans.

Perhaps they are waiting to first finish and open the Springhill Suites project.

Unfortunately I can't read that article. Does it have a rendering? Sounds very appealing though!

No renderings - article said they're still working on the drawings.

Agreed, a boutique hotel in DD would do well.

After just searching google, seems very Aloft like, which is definitely a good thing. Most of the designs look pretty good.

It's possible, but the lede for that article in the Oklahoman suggests that the developer is designing the building to try and address the concerns of neighbors... so this project sounds promising on paper, at least.

NIMBY opposition is usually a moving target. Usually, and not saying this is the case here, they don't like the idea of a project at all -- and therefore find whatever the biggest flaws are and attack those to get something denied.

Hopefully that is not the case here. By the way, has the railroad crossing ever been addressed? Is it still a challenge to cross the tracks into Bricktown?

Fair enough... that's entirely possible. Let's see how this plays out.

Yeah, that crossing on Russell M Perry Ave is *really* rough. I'm sure UP doesn't want to put any money into it if they're just going to rip it back out and redo it for the infrastructure upgrades the City wants to do (to allow eastern access to the platforms at Santa Fe Station), but a little bit of blacktop to fill the potholes right next to the railhead would go a LONG way.

Does anyone have any info about the townhouse and separate residence being built on the west end of 3rd street, near the tracks? And is there another separate residence going between Maywood II and the townhouses along Oklahoma?

Deep Deuce is having their Christmas Crawl tonight which benefit the Infant Crisis Center. Drink and food specials. I know that Slaughter's still has a lot of local taps right now.
