Thread: Midtown Condos

    Midtown Midtown Condos

An Edmond home builder has partnered with investor / developer Brent Irish of Moore to propose (3) 3-level condos near Saint Anthony Hospital.

Under the name Elite Urban Homes, Irish bought the tiny .08 acre lot at 908 N. Shartel for $135,000 in November of last year.

Castlerock Homes of Edmond would be the builder.

Plans submitted to the Urban Design Commission show 3 townhomes built to the edge of each property line.

The exterior would be a combination of brick, manufactured stone, metal and fiber cement panels.

The design committee will review the plans in its March 22nd meeting.

The city planning staff has recommended denying the application for non-compliance to downtown guidelines in regards to lack of back-out distance for garages fronting the the alley to the north, that is is out of scale and character with adjacent use, lack of conforming building materials and front-facing garages.

Planning staff recommendations are not binding.

The project is adjacent to the Lisbon Lofts condominiums, which were completed in 2015 and largely sold out in advance.

It also joins the growing number of proposed for-sale projects in the urban core, as prices per square foot continue to rise in response to strong demand.

See our exclusive Downtown Housing Summary for a full list of all living units complete, under construction and proposed.

Haha...they put the Valliance bank Tower in the background.

These look nice. Great to see more condos, and their location by the Park should allow them to sell for a premium.

This is a really tiny lot and I like the idea of increased density.

It's also a great location and would have awesome views. I lived across the street and you sit up very high on a hill and then have Red Andrews park as a buffer.

Not sure what the compromises might be here to appease the existing guidelines but hopefully something can be worked out.

I think the stone is very tacky and has a certain The Hill at Bricktown aesthetic to it, but similarly glad to see some for-sale product that might appeal to people with less taste and more money than me lol.

These are quite ugly, but I've seen much worse in this city.

I'm a fan, but per Nick, they would look better in Tulsa.

This article made me rethink my criticism of this development. While I'm not gaga over some of our new multiplex downtown apartments, they are WAY better than what seems to be happening in Denver. YIKES.
