Default Bullet train developers eye station sites in Fort Worth, Arlington, Dallas ...OKC

“I met with Chairman Kasai when he was in town, and he thinks it’s a very viable project and the connection needs to come through Fort Worth,” Price said in an interview last week. “It’s a one-seat ride. You buy a ticket in Fort Worth and go on to Arlington, Dallas and Houston. Ultimately, long-term he thinks it will come out of Mexico to San Antonio, Austin and north to Oklahoma City.”

With CA botching the proposed HSR project there so badly, this may be the most viable proposal. It will be interesting to see how it develops and if it will promote the growth of regional conventional rail service.

I wonder where the anticipated Mexico terminus is. It would be really odd to have a bullet train through Mexico be the quick ground way to the west coast (assuming more international bullet trains out of Mexico).

Why do we have to wait for Texas to do this? ...why can't we get w/ Chairman Kasai of Japan Central Railway and have them build the trains here in OKC? Mayor Cornett / Gov. Fallin, why are we waiting on Texas, why don't we get in-front on this one? If we build trains in OKC, we could deliver to the entire US.

We could deliver to West Coast / Upper Midwest / NE / Southeast / Texas / ...hhmmm???

Are you saying to manufacture large infrastructure, that we don't not have the capability? ...are you saying that we are not capable of "borrowing" money from the US government either? ...are you saying we dont' have a desire to be a leader in an up & coming industry?

This sounds like the same typical excuses we okies use. There is a reason why Texas "gets it" ...and we don't. This is not asking us to build the space shuttle, just the newest in technology / engineering / design in trains. ??? hmmm??

Gov. Fallin / Mayor Cornett, we need to get in-front on this one. ( A rail commodity, that by nature, is best served in a central location ) ????

Not lack of capability - lack of will to do so. I am one of the biggest proponents of conventional and HSR you will find. But one must temper enthusiasm with recognition of reality.

I am talking primarily about being a manufacturing location / Engineering location / Design for this product. This IS the part of the job creation ( Eng $$$ jobs ) that we want. Here is our chance to exceed what Texas can bring to the table. Later, when the infrastructure is in place, then we can have HSR. JCR should be here talking to our Mayor Cornett / Gov. Fallin and hearing what we can offer to them as a partnership ( JV ) in this new industry.

What is Gov. Fallin waiting on? ...what is Mayor Cornett waiting on? Texas called JCR and the Chaiman of the Board, Mr. Kasai showed up...because it makes sense. We have a better mouse trap ( w/ our central location ) and we are not talking to them? ....why not?
