Thread: Steelyard

I'd really like to see that big parking lot south of Chevy Events Center and east of the ballpark turned into condos/apartments with structured parking in the middle (75% tenant/25% everyone else) or something like that. I just think that would be grand.

I remember before the last economic crunch in what, 2008? that there were plans for condos and shops there. Would love to see that come to fruition!

Now that the foundations are down, they are moving very fast:

The pre-fabricated parking garage is coming together with incredible speed and it's really quite amazing to watch come together. It also gives you a good idea of just how tall this development is going to be, which is rather impressive!

Fast until you realize this thread is over 4 years old. I kid of course (kind of). It just goes to show how much remediation had to be done with this site. It is exciting to see all of the progress and realize that this is a real thing after just looking at pictures for so long.

Pete You know what amazes me how fast this stuff is moving in the lower part of bricktown. I was going through my old photos I took mid August last year there was just dirt clearing in that whole area. Criterion foundation was just poured earlier that week. Steelyard and Staybridge utility work was being done on those properties. I'm waiting till mid august taking pictures exactly a year apart and posting them on the site later this summer.

I noticed today that brick has started going up at the northeast corner.

This project seems to be moving with lightning speed compared to some of the other major apartment construction efforts (ahem, Lift).

I thought one of these hotels was going to built by stacking modular sections. When does this happen ?

    Bellaboo-

Once the first floor of the AC is vertical, they will start putting the modulars on top. The timeline has moved back some probably from the original goal of late October to sometime in November. They have started completing the units though, and they look amazing. If I get a photo I will try to post for sure.

Each unit (100+) will be delivered by semi so when this starts to move it will be a BIG scene in East Bricktown, I'm sure many spectators!

Anyone know what the latest is on when the apartments are set to open. Also how come there are no floorplans or leasing info online anywhere?
