Default Juan del Fuego Mexi Diner?

Juan del Fuego Mexi Diner - looks like it is going in where the local Oklahoman offices were in that curved strip center directly across from the Sam's parking lot - does anyone know anything about it?

    TIA

    your pal,

Juan del Fuego is a restaurant that will serve breakfast and lunch, like a diner with authentic Mexican food and style. It is being opened by Juan, the head cook of The Diner, and Elayne Herrera.

According to the owners, they should be open in about 6 weeks. Juan has cooked at The Diner on Main St for about 16 years. He and Elaine (also of The Diner) have wanted to open a place for years, and the time finally seemed right. From what I understand, they're going to concentrate on authentic Mexican flavors.

Don't know, though it would make me sad for the Diner faithful if so. Does seem likely though. Can't imagine being hands-on master of two kitchens.

Enjoyed an absolutely delicious late breakfast there this morning. I had the relleno omelet, my girlfriend had the papas con chorizo, and we split the banana french toast. Huge portions, modest prices, we enjoyed the atmosphere, very diner-like, with people shaking hands and the staff calling folks by first names.

Saw some familiar Diner faces there, including Coach Switzer.

This is a really good place to eat. I wish them much success.
