Thread: Homeless Man with the Golden Voice goes to Rehab

  1. Default Homeless Man with the Golden Voice goes to Rehab

This should be interesting - Can we discuss Ted Williams' rehab and substance abuse, but not the fact Mick Cornett is getting a divorce?

Yes, a "gag rule" is in effect concerning Mick Cornett's divorce.

I'd not heard of this Ted Williams until yesterday. Must be missing out.

I'm interested to see how this works out in the long run. He was supposedly a fairly successful broadcasting voice before he ended up on the streets as an alcohlic/addict. Can they fix whatever condition put him there in the first place. Also, going from the streets to being a national figure in a couple of weeks must be stressful. Or will be when the newness wears off and the reality of having to deal with the constant public attention sinks in.

haha, is there really a "ban" on the divorce? If so, thats ridiculous. I didn't know pete was in bed with the city that much.

Yeah, you can pretty much trash any and everything else (including fellow posters) but don't you dare mention Mick's private life that made the front page of the newspaper. I get a kick out of seeing how the rules are applied around here and what sets some people off.

This site is privately operated, you don't have to log on/post if you don't agree with the guidelines. "Or better yet, pay someone for a video shot and post on the internet"

It's not a case in point, it's a case of rc being 100% correct in his statement.

Just because it is privately operated does not mean we cannot complain. A hypocritical stance is being taken regarding the divorce of Mick, and in the same way we are able to complain about private companies, we can complain about private website. If pete wants this to be a website where any important topic can be discussed, he should loosen the belt on this topic.

With respect soonerfan_in_okc, how in the world is a mayor's dissolution of marriage proceeding an important topic for discussion to anyone but the family. I realize John Q often takes the position that any and all aspects of any public official's life falls under the auspices of fair game.

That I realize this does not mean I concur with John Q's typical viewpoint. Quite the opposite actually. And yes, I know I sadly hold a minority perspective on the matter. Doesn't mean I'm wrong.

I guess it goes back to the reason why they are getting a divorce and if it is something that could hurt the cities image and or his credibility. If it is just because they don't get along, then i agree it is none of our business. Maybe i am being paranoid, but i would feel comfortable knowing it is not because our mayor was out with escorts or doing something else that breaks the law or the morals of the public.

Yes, you're being paranoid soonerfan. You've been reading too much about the past problems of the governor's of New York and New Jersey or John Edwards. Not all politicians fall in that spectrum. If there is something sordid it will come out at some point and there is no need for us to speculate.

My family used to live on his street, and we know neighbors who have heard things from the wife. I have a reason to speculate.

And I have a third cousin, twice removed that met a garbage collector while playing pool at a bowling alley in the small town in Fairveiw Ok, he picked up Mick Cornetts trash shortly after he first married , you wouldn't believe what he claims he found in the trash can. "some people need a life"

So you don't believe me. I dont care. Either way, the muffling about his divorce on this website is absurd. Go ahead and take Pete and mick's balls out of your mouth after you read this post.

I think I'll agree to disagree and leave you and your former neighbors to speculate til the cows come home. The man's personal life, is just not of interest to me.
