Far West NW 23rd and Morgan Road

A new residential community and what looks to be apartments coming to the west shore of Lake Overholser.

That would make sense. They’ve been building their cheap stuff to the west.

I've been wondering when something would be built here. I was hoping for more of like a resort for the lake

Without knowing anything about their design, etc., why shame? It's not like Oklahoma City has a shortage of single-family detached housing... (https://constructioncoverage.com/res...ily-homes-2021)

I was hoping to see that area remain undeveloped, but that was always unlikely. I won’t hold my breath on the design wowing me, but who knows.

Long overdue for more Lakefront and Riverfront property development. Need to make sure the foundation is solid to sustain the ground shifts. Bring in on...

I counted over 500 plots for homes. This has to be one of the biggest single subdivisions built in the city in quite a while.

100% agree on Ideal being a step up from DRH.

No doubt. They are a local company and build quality homes.

They are in their final lots of Valencia which was their massive north okc addition. I suspect this is their next big neighborhood to develop over years/phases.

Next? They have dozens of big neighborhoods in the works already with others in the preliminary planning stages.

All the homebuilders are cranking homes out as fast as they can to try and catch up with the market.

This shows the scores of neighborhoods in which Ideal is actively building:

Ideal is the McKown family... Richard McKown has also developed OKSEA, Level, and Mosaic all in Deep Duece.

New home prices are ridiculous. I remember looking at new homes for sale (despite being a few years away from buying) in 2013. I remember seeing listings for 140,000 or so. It would be great to somehow get back down to levels significantly under 200,000 again. Especially for the more starter homes. Something like this one. https://www.idealhomes.com/homes/moo...01-sw-150th-st

Any word on when this housing development, or the one just to the north will be getting under way?

If that were to ever happen, we'd likely be looking at an extreme national/world economic problem. Only way it gets down there is if home sizes plummet.

Any updates on this subdivision, or the one just to the north?

It looks like this project is getting underway. I was driving around Lake Overholser, and they're beginning ground scraping and dirt work.

Better than a mobile home park going in at Melrose west of Council.

That street layout is gonna lead to traffic issues and speeding in the neighbrhood. 500 homes and only 2 access points to main roads. there really needs to be another road going north south between Sara and Morgan/Overholser.
