Thread: Fire near I-44 & May

  1. #1

Default Fire near I-44 & May

These were three small office buildings that were largely vacant.

North side of I-44 along the frontage road between Penn & May.

Did you mean North side? Took me forever to find them on Google map then I found then on the N side almost to Penn.

North side. The view shows the Y across the highway and it's definitely on the South. The drone wasn't far from being over a house I bought after I left wife #1. And if the shot covered a couple more blocks to the SW it would show the house I grew up in.

That is one way to clear out dilapidated buildings... those were a bit of an eye sore

Agree! With dilapidated and boarded up buildings, many of them are not secured and vagrants and homeless begin to occupy these eyesores and fires occur all the time. Does OKC have any type of ordinance, to secure vacant houses and commercial buildings? This can turn into a major liability issue.

I went by there and it looks like only one of the three buildings were destroyed.

24 year ago when I started my law practice, I rented a one room office there. The building that was destroyed was only being rented for storage as they said it was structurally unstable, Not sure if they ever started renting it out or not

I walk by there frequently and it's been vacant for at least the last 6 years.

The other two have some small tenants but lots of vacancy. Those buildings are pretty run-down.

That’s the worst news to come out of this.
