My wife and I have done a couple of these events with some friends and I tell you it's a blast. It can get a bit expensive if you consider food/booze isn't included when you sign up but it's definitely a novel night out with a date or if family is in town. And you get something to hang on the wall!

It may be fun but I certainly wouldn't put anything I painted on my wall, especially after having a few glasses of wine. LOL

That's likely the only way I'd be able to draw something that didn't resemble a stickman after a dogfight.

Man, I'd love to see those old UP tracks brought up to commuter train maintenance performance!

Some fun pics from Capt. Norm's Dockside Bar

The place is obviously going to the dogs.

Another successful place that has a lot of outside seating (as we have been discussing in the Pump Bar thread).

Came across an interesting video posted at Nonna's facebook page:

Nonna's Located in the Heart of Oklahoma City ~ Bricktown!

It's an interview with Avis Scaramucci, but it's not so much about Nonnas, but rather Bricktown -- or really just downtown OKC altogether.
Lots of nice shots of OKC.

I was in Bricktown on Easter Sunday with my family, and it was very nice. Many people out walking around, dining, and riding water taxis. Bricktown is far from being dead, this is just the beginning.

Agreed. However there is a limit and it is rapidly being approached.

With all due respect, the only place I've heard where Bricktown was struggling or "dead" was on this board. Sorry, but just have to call it like it is.

I have always seen healthy crowds in Bricktown and have with surprising consistency. Much different than the hyperbole that can get slung on here from time to time.

Agree. In the four years I've lived downtown, Bricktown appears to only have gotten busier. I know the Starbucks chaned out all their seating and the manager told me it was because of how much busier they've gotten. It seems like no matter when we're downtown, there are people walking around everywhere.

Yep, too many people here are not willing to give Bricktown it's due.

I go every time I'm in town and it's always plenty busy... The one place in town you can go for guaranteed energy and street life.

With the East Bricktown development and three major hotels under construction (Aloft, Homewood Inn and now HI Express) and plenty more of everything on the way, this district is only going to get better and will probably even take the most dramatic leap forward since the 90's.

Ummmmm.... that would not be streetcar territory. That would be commuter rail territory.
