Van's Pig Stand in Moore, Norman or go on over to Shawnee where it all began.
Sooner Legends, SW24th and Lindsey in Norman
Ray's Smokehouse in Norman (if neither of the above are open)
Leo's (for the sake of tradition if no other reason)
    Swadley's

Which one? The first one in Glenbrook center closed between Michael's Plum closing and The Varsity opening in the mid-80's. The one on South Meridian closed well before I moved to Austin in 2003, neither was open very long. The one here in Austin up near Lakeline Mall was only open about two years. Chain BBQ restaurants usually don't all that well in places with established BBQ joints/traditions. Tony Roma's is alright if there are not better options which is not the case in this part of the country.

bluedogok...it was the one on Meridian. Our office had our office party down in that area a few years ago and I kinda-sorta remember not seeing it. I have been asleep for the past 1158 days. And you are right...it's the same way in South Carolina, there are sooooo many local mom and pop bbq restaurants.

kevinpate...thank you. We will try Norman.
