Haven't seen it posted anywhere yet, but Amazon/Whole Foods announced the expansion of Whole Foods Prime Delivery into Oklahoma City, which provides free 2-hour delivery for orders over $35 (pretty easy to do at Whole Foods!). While I typically shop at TJs/Sprouts/Aldi this may make the Whole Foods price premium worth it and, my previous joke about prices aside, there are some pretty good deals for Prime members for basic food items. I also like that their app integrates my Alexa shopping list - very convenient if not an effective way to get me to spend more money.
This service is perfect for me on a week like this week where I have very little in the fridge and busy evenings where I don't feel like going to the grocery store. I imagine wine and beer delivery will be popular with people come October 1st if Whole Foods makes it an option (the below link states alcohol delivery is currently available in New York, LA, DFW, Charlotte, Raleigh and Seattle.
This has to be a pretty good sign of how Amazon/Whole Foods views the OKC market and hopefully their view towards future expansion. The other cities in this wave of Prime Delivery expansion are: Charlotte, Las Vegas, Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, Phoenix, Raleigh, Seattle and Tucson. Not a bad group of cities to be in.
