Elizabeth Edwards will speak at event for grieving parents



The 30th annual national conference of The Compassionate Friends, an organization for parents whose children have died, will be July 19-22 at the Cox Convention Center. More than 100 workshops and lectures are scheduled.


Conference registration costs range from $30 to $115. Speakers will include Elizabeth Edwards, wife of presidential candidate John Edwards, who wrote the book "Saving Graces" about the death of her son, Wade; Simon Stephens, founder of The Compassionate Friends; and Bud Welch, whose daughter, Julie, died in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing.
