If I had to rate one of those selected above, it would be the Morning Animals on WWLS. A bit tawdry at times, but they never lower the level of taste below my "gross out" point like some others. Just plain, pleasant guys (and a girl) who talk about sports (duh), movies, and politics for good measure.
Truth be told, I only listen to two terrestrial stations, KGOU/KROU (NPR from Norman), or WWLS, at select times of the day. I've tried listening to others at times, but find they are just way too cheesy for my tastes, or go waaaayy beyond my taste limits (at least at 7 a.m.)! I will say that TJ, Janet and J-Rod helped us with a volunteer project several months ago. They were GREAT people; all very nice and very helpful, so they're on air personalities are not far off their "real life" personalities - their station in general just skews to a bit younger demo than where I fit in! Before the car wreck, I enjoyed about 2 years of XM radio in my car. The new car (same make, newer model) is only compatible with Sirius, and as we've been long-time XM users, we don't want to reinvest in all of the equipment, etc. So, at least I've got two stations I can enjoy. If I get sick of them, I just throw in a CD! |

I live in Stillwater so I listen to 92.1 The Beat out of Tulsa on a local station 103.1. The Big Bad Morning Show...The funniest and most disturbing morning show in Oklahoma.

You just might get to listen to satellite radio again with your current equipment if the proposed merger between Sirius and XM goes thru. Shareholders OK Sirius, XM merger - CNN.com

Interesting. The last I heard about the merger, XM was trying to vy for Sirius. Guess the tables have turned. This will be mired in FCC muck for probably at least 2 years, and then the terrestrials are going to want get in the way legislatively because they hate that satellite is putting out "commercial-free" radio. Going commercial-free is one of the primary reasons we switched! |

I'll take BOB FM in the mornings. Just my opinion on it. |

Was it Kid Kraddick? They tried to get it to work here and it failed big time. So far the only syndicated show that does well is Bob and Tom....but not according to our poll. (at least no so far)

yes, it was kidd kraddick! i know that when I would visit okc when living in dfw, it was here, but they were losing syndicates (is that a word) here and in some other places. I like (being very sarcastic) how 102.7 "tries" do have a similar show with a girl, a lead guy and the funny black man~~~but there is no other then kidd kraddick :::::tear:::::::::::

Give me XM any day. You can even get XM's special Online Internet Radio for $7.99 a month. Free trial is worth it (no credit card needed). You'll be amazed at the stations and the peace with the lack of disc jockey's trying to be funny when they're not and just the lack of needless chatter. If you are a music lover, you can't help but love XM.

No matter how many times you play it...."Boogie in Your Butt" by Eddie Murphy was NOT a hit in the 80's, as was indicated by the station name. Just because it's an obscure song doesn't make it good. 10 minutes of searching would usually come up with a song I liked, but that's hardly a good use of my time. It's all relative though. I know a lot of music people that swear by XM. As for the topic at hand...I hate talk radio. People yammering away on there gets me stabby. My radio is fo' music. I'm funnier than those people anyway. ![]() |

Well so far it looks like "I hate morning radio" is walking away with this poll (why am I not shocked?). The Morning Animals are not even a close second. Here's how my morning routine goes:
Normally I will listen to Bob FM unless they are playing a song I don't like. Otherwise I'll switch to Rick and Brad on the KATT (even though thier act is getting very tired) or sometimes Bob and Tom. Very rarely will I listen to Jack and Ron. I get sick of them pretty quick. |

If I didn't listen to the Morning Animals, I'd listen to JOX for Mike and Mike in the Morning.

About half the mornings I listen to Mike and Mike on XM Channel 140. The other half of the time I listen to NPR 105.7. I have to say I like the lineup on JOX. A lot more informational and less confrontational than the Sports Animal. I got to the point where I can't listen to the Morning Animals any more. I need a little more sports on my sports talk and a little less International News etc.

I'm sorry I didn't think to put Mike & Mike on the poll. I guess they are too new to OKC. I also like the line up on JOX. I think the station is very well put together. A less sloppy version of the animal.

I had XM for about two years until I got a new car. I thought I could never go back to "regular radio" but when I did, I began listening to Jack and Ron again and realized they were using the same jokes and lines when I stopped listening to them 2 years prior before XM. I have now started listening to Bob's Big Breakfast w/ Stacy, Ron and Phil and they are hysterical. Some people that call in I can't beleive really exist... They keep me laughing all the way to work!!!
