    Default Obama's recent lie.

Does he believe he can say anything and that nobody is going to
    check up on the facts?

Well, judging by Ws actions, the answer is no. How many people are dead because of Bush's lies that led to a war?

I don't know where you've been but the so-called lies were debunked
long ago. Before you jump the gun, I'm NOT a W. Bush fan.

Obama's lie is for all to see and is as plain as day.

Must be a slow outrage day. I heard Obama sneaked an extra cookie after supper last night.

Okay, let's put this in perspective:

    1. Obama voted for Iraq War funding, the Patriot Act, free trade agreements, Bush's budgets, and the Bailouts - all key Bush agendas, while he was in Congress. Are we to just overlook his voting record and go by his words that he's the anti-Bush? He even hijacked Bush's phrase, "Yes we can" - Bush said "juntos podemos" in his 2001 State of the Union address, "Together we can".
    Sources: CNN, Wall Street Journal.

    2. Obama campaigned on fixing Bush's mess. He said a bunch of stuff people wanted to hear without giving specifics about his plans. Those of us who'd voted against him in 2004, Illinois residents, knew he was a demagogue who says one thing and does another, but the whole country fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Are you all really that gullible, that you'll let him disclaim responsibility once more for his failed promises? You elected him to fix Bush's mess, when he lied about being able to do so, and are all too willing to forget he made those promises so you can have a clean conscience about voting for what you know at heart is a horrible politician.

    3. As bad as Bush managed the debt, Obama has been twice as bad. Just go to Treasury Direct's "Debt to the Penny" calculator and see for yourself. Put in the earliest day (9/30/97) and the most recent (7/06/11), and it shows the debt logs for that time frame. Under Bill Clinton, debt grew $211 billion a year. Under George Bush it grew $612 billion a year, 2.91 times the rate of Bill Clinton's. And under Obama? The public debt is growing $1.512 TRILLION a year, 2.47 times the rate of Bush's, and 7.19 times the rate of Clinton's! Yes, Bush was about 3 times as bad as Clinton at managing the economy, but Obama is about 2 and a half times as bad as Bush! For those wondering if anyone could be as bad as Bush, and using that as your logic for voting in Obama, you've now got your answer - you've found someone even worse than Bush.

Unless we totally change the tax code the next prez, even if a Republican, will probably make it worse exponentiallly all over again. Unless we quit policing the world we will never be able to afford our mere existence with basic food, clothing and shelter.

It's funny how the socialists immediately blame W when Obama is
caught red handed. Diverting the topic is foremost.

Obama gets caught lying and W gets blamed.

Well, I've been blaming both Bush AND Obama since 2004:

    http://www.renewamerica.com/bb/viewt...8&p=8092#p8092
    http://www.renewamerica.com/bb/viewt...6&p=7174#p7174
    http://www.renewamerica.com/bb/viewt...4&p=7248#p7248

What I don't like is people voting with red glasses, or blue glasses. Both parties can be wrong, both candidates can be wrong. I've been voting for 3rd party candidates since 2004, the first election I voted in (Michael Peroutka). I will vote for a good candidate regardless of their chances. Bush and Obama can both be wrong, in other words.

I am no fan of Bush, but I dislike how Obama supporters think they can divert attention from Obama's arguably even greater faults by playing the Bush card (just like Obama's supporters like Emil Jones and Jesse Jackson Jr. played the race card for him). It is dishonest to use the faults of someone else to get the attention off of your guy. I will gladly acknowledge BOTH their faults.

Clearly you don't understand that conservatives are ALWAYS right. At least here in this little corner of the internet just outside reality.

Joshua, when you introduced yourself here you mentioned that you were fically liberal and socially conservative and I must admit you are the first person I ever knew who made such a claim. Having been reading your posts it seems that you are rigid in your social conservatism but much more flexible on fiscal issues. You will probably continue to meld beautifully with Prune on social issues but I think you will learn to be irritated by his absolute rigidity on fiscal issues. So far I have have found you to be a pleasant addition to the politics section. The liberals on here seem to be nicer people over all and a bit more willing to actually discuss things since they don't believe that God talks to them.

ALL politicians lie to meet their needs. No need to get smug about it, as if YOUR's haven't and don't. Your buddy Ronnie told a TON of them and the ones about Iran-Contra were whoppers. Saying "He's a liar" as though it were unique is just blustering. :-P

Yeah. But no one can do it without embarassing themselves, at this point. Instead of focusing on the current problem, there seems to be a jump to the past or to the future - anything to change the focus from what is happening right now.

Well, I guess it is all okay since other people messed up, too. I guess we should give them all a pass. Why have any standards at all?

Well, I won't say they are always right but they darm sure have been prophetic about the stupidity of the Obama and Pelosi policies.

President Reagan was never convicted of lying but and lord knows the
hard liners did everything possible to do so but couldn't. It's like Bush
43 and the so-called Iraq war lies that were sufficiently extinguished.
Only those who refuse to face the truth keep trying to make it an
    issue.

Obama on the other hand has been caught red handed with his
own mouth and not just once.

Obama lied about his opposing the Born Alive bills that were intended to protect newborn children. That's not something to easily be ignored.

As for Ron Paul, I gained interest after a friend told me more a month or two ago, but if I decide he's too dishonest, I could well just drop support long before the elections. I assume that's who you're referring to, anyway.

However, what I dislike is this defense Obama supporters are increasingly using, that "all politicians lie" as support for his constant and severe problem as a habitual liar. This might seem an explanation for those who already think lying is okay, but is no excuse regardless.

Also, I don't think you want to try proving mathematically that every politician lies, or lies frequently, as that would take you a lot of time to prove. My point is that sweeping generalizations like that are likely inaccurate sooner or later, in which case you yourself could be lying by making such a point. Furthermore, it fails to address the scope involved. After all, just because a politician has lied once, perhaps under tough circumstances, does not equate them to Barack Obama, who lies frequently and on major issues.

Trying to paint all politicians as liars is futile. The only ones who can
be called liars are those who have been caught.

The bottom line is that Obama has been caught red handed. W has
been found innocent as has Reagan via lack of evidence but only
    because there isn't any.
